Good morning, everyone, and welcome to today’s Daily Devotional for Saturday, October 10!
What a blessing it is to begin another day together in the presence of the Lord.
Whatever your circumstances may look like today, remember this truth:
GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD.
There are times when our concerns take up so much room in our thoughts that we overlook the blessings around us. You may be waiting for an answer, working through a difficulty, or wishing something in your life were different.
But even as you bring those concerns to God, you can pause to thank Him for His faithful care.
Psalm 107:1 reminds us:
“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”
Family, this psalm tells of people who experienced trouble and cried out to the Lord. Their thanksgiving came from remembering His mercy and the help they had received.
You can be honest about your struggles while also recognizing God’s goodness. Gratitude makes room for us to remember His care in the middle of an unfinished story.
Perhaps today you can thank Him for someone who has encouraged you, a meal on your table, an opportunity to rest, or the comfort you have found in His Word.
Above all, we can thank God for Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness He offers, and for the hope we have through Him.
Take a quiet moment today and name a few things you are thankful for. Let those memories become a prayer of praise.
Then look for an opportunity to express your gratitude to someone else. A simple thank-you can encourage a person whose kindness you might otherwise leave unmentioned.
As you walk through this day, keep bringing your needs to God and remembering the mercies you have already received.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and enduring mercy. Help me notice the blessings I sometimes overlook. As I bring my concerns before You, remind me of Your faithful care. Thank You for Jesus, for forgiveness, and for the people who encourage me. Give me a grateful heart and help me express appreciation through my words and actions today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
